Herbert Williams

Herbert Williams

Herbert Williams first made a mark as a poet, featuring in Dannie Abse's Corgi Modern Poets in Focus and more than 20 anthologies. He is probably one of Wales's most versatile authors, turning his hand also to novels, short stories, biography and history. A former journalist and radio producer, Aberystwyth-born Herbert, now lives in Cardiff with his wife Dorothy. His awards include a Hawthornden Poetry Fellowship and a top prize in the Rhys Davies Short Story Competition, which he later adjudicated. He is a Fellow of the Welsh Academy and a member of the Society of Authors.
