Alexandra Claire

Alexandra Claire was born and brought up in Cardiff and is an alumnus of London Contemporary Dance School. She made a career in the 1990's as a professional contemporary dancer and choreographer, directing Arts Council of Wales project-funded Tripswitch Dance Theatre and performing with Earthfall and ManAct. Her choreography represented Great Britain in the Citta di Cagliari International Choreography Competition in 1994. In 1998, Alexandra changed career and began to work in the electricity industry. She currently assists in the operational management of renewable energy generation plants throughout the UK. Alexandra began to write short stories in 2005 and has been published by Parthian, Honno and the Western Mail. In 2007, she received a New Writer's Award from Academi (now Literature Wales) to write her first novel, Random Walk published by Gomer Press in September 2011.
